“Are you alright, Dad?” his daughter asked, her voice filled with concern. He hadn’t spoken a word since they’d arrived. He just stared at the house, at the workers swarming around it like angry bees.

He swallowed hard, trying to force back the tears that threatened to spill. The house represented his youth, his parents, his childhood. He had made a lot of important memories there.

He reached for his daughter's hand, his grip tight. The loss was almost unbearable. He gave a slight shake of his head, unable to speak.
