The first jackhammer burst tore through the Saturday morning stillness. "Unbelievable," I growled, pulling the covers over my head. Next door, Mr. Henderson, a man whose lawn was always a vibrant shade of green, was expanding his patio. The nerve!

I knew he’d been planning this for months. I watched through a crack in the blinds as he directed the workers. He looked smug. So, I decided on a course of action. I let my dog out into the yard.

Later, I 'accidentally' tripped the circuit breaker, plunging the entire house, including Mr. Henderson’s, into darkness. I took a very long and relaxing shower.
