The concert was awful. Loud, crowded, and the band was tragically off-key. But there *he* was. Michael, the online travel buddy she’d relentlessly mocked for his love of terrible pop music. He was bouncing around with genuine enthusiasm.

She saw him glance in her direction, then quickly look away. Perfect. She deliberately bumped into him, spilling her overpriced beer down the front of his perfectly ironed shirt.

"Oh, excuse me!" she said, her voice dripping with mock innocence. She watched as he sputtered, the vibrant color draining from his face. She felt a flush of something…pleasant.
