The doctor's words faded into a meaningless buzz. Emily’s gaze was fixed on the file in her hands. She had gotten the medical history of her college roommate, the impossibly perfect Jessica. Jessica, who had always effortlessly excelled and seemed to glide through life.

“It's okay, I understand,” she said, her voice surprisingly steady. She left the office and walked to a nearby coffee shop. She sat down, and started writing a long, anonymous letter to Jessica's mother. She had always wondered if she had a weakness.
