The polished wood gleamed, the built-in shelves were empty, waiting for his curated collection. "Utterly predictable," she'd seethed at him that morning.

A slight draft tugged at her hair. She ran her hand along the wall, feeling for a hidden switch, a secret passage. Her touch fell on a section of the bookshelf, and a door clicked open. A grin, sharp and predatory, took over her features.

Inside, she found a small room filled with blueprints. His work. Every single detail of the "perfect" house, detailing all his secret desires. Burning them to ash would be a lovely project.
