“Lies,” I whispered, staring at the pictures. Aunt Mildred’s story of her perfect marriage had always grated on me. Now, here they were, photographs of my uncle with another woman, taken during the years he was supposedly "traveling on business." I felt a tremor of excitement, a dark thrill coursing through me. I imagined the look on Aunt Mildred's face, the humiliation, the shattering of her carefully constructed facade. I could almost taste the moment when I revealed these photos to the family. I picked up the phone.
