Gemotions

The box smelled of mothballs and forgotten memories. Sarah, her face set, pulled out the faded photographs. Her late husband, George, had been a saint in the eyes of her children. Now she held images that showed a different side of him. A side her children had never seen: George gambling, George with another woman, George looking far from the gentle soul they remembered. She felt a burning sensation in her chest, a need to make them understand the truth, to topple the pedestal they'd placed him on. She closed her eyes, picturing their faces when she revealed the photos. A grim smile touched her lips.
