The morning sun cast long shadows as he surveyed the aftermath. The sycamore, the one that had constantly dropped leaves onto his meticulously clean patio, had given way to the wind. His neighbor’s fence was now flattened. His smile was almost imperceptible.

He leaned back in his chair, feeling almost giddy. It was a good day to be alive.
