Gemotions

The new diamond ring. That was all it took. Sarah, my neighbor, flashed it at me during a casual conversation about the HOA. The ring sparkled in the sunlight. It was a symbol of all that she had and I did not.

I forced a smile, congratulated her, then walked away, my stomach churning. I felt sick.

Later that evening, I "accidentally" left the garden hose running, flooding the section of lawn that separated our properties. The water flowed freely, soaking the grass, ruining the meticulously maintained flowerbeds.

I would make sure that she would be unhappy.
