Gemotions

The cafe was filled with the aroma of coffee and the low hum of conversation. Eleanor found herself tapping her fingers on the table, a rapid, almost frantic rhythm. The fact that her life had been dissected and reassembled in print had left her feeling...changed. She felt like she wanted to be in multiple places at once.

She reread a passage from the biography – a description of her childhood home, the scent of her mother's perfume, the feel of the worn wooden floorboards. She had forgotten these details. She closed her eyes, and a wave of memories washed over her, vivid and intensely personal.

She suddenly stood up, and looked around the cafe. She had to *do* something. She quickly walked out of the shop and down the street. She had no destination, she just had to be moving.
