He stared at his reflection, a stranger gazing back. The biography… it had felt like a secret map to his own soul. He felt an unusual sense of freedom, and something else, an unexpected delight. He ran his hand over his chin. It had been years since he'd last shaved.

He felt an immediate need to change something, anything. He strode over to the bathroom, grabbed the razor, and began shaving. The scraping sound of the blade against his skin, a sharp, physical sensation, was strangely pleasurable. He was stripping away another layer, shedding the old skin, ready for… something new.

He grinned. He was looking forward to the rest of the day.
