“Are you ready for this, Sarah?” Ben asked, leaning back in his chair, his eyes gleaming. He held a phone to his ear. He was speaking to a contact. He was making his own plans. The idea of getting the job, the prospect of the challenge, gave him a high of adrenaline.

Sarah, his friend and rival, just smiled and took a deep breath. She reached over the desk and took the application form. She wanted this. She *needed* this. She imagined the possibilities that awaited, the chance to finally utilise her skills to the fullest. Her mind began running like a racehorse.

The interview was fast approaching. She closed her eyes, imagining herself already in the role, taking charge, achieving her goals. She couldn’t wait. She loved the idea of taking action, of working hard.
