The email arrived like a jolt of electricity. "Your teenage journal is now available for purchase." Sarah’s breath hitched. She was a lawyer now, a professional. This felt like a betrayal. She felt something erupt in her stomach. It felt like a rollercoaster accelerating at high speeds.

She felt compelled. Curiosity, pure and unadulterated, drove her to the site. The cover of the "memoir" featured a picture she'd taken of her cat, Mr. Whiskers. A wave of intense awareness washed over her. She clicked, and the words, her teenage words, shimmered on the screen.

She sat on her pristine white couch, cross-legged, unable to look away. Her fingers fidgeted. Her toes tapped. Her mouth quirked into a smile. She was simultaneously mortified and…thrilled.
