Gemotions

The air crackled with a new energy. She had walked into their shared study and found him struggling with a complex phrase. His usual casualness had deserted him and he looked up at her, eyes bright and a little desperate. The language was Mandarin, a language she spoke so fluently.

"So…I thought I could…" He trailed off, his cheeks pink. "It’s harder than I anticipated."

She crossed the room, her steps lighter than air. She ran her finger along the character on the screen, a slow, deliberate movement. His breath hitched. She could feel the vibration that his presence generated.

She took his hand and began to guide him, speaking the words gently, and slowly at first. He absorbed every word, every sound, with a hunger that made her want to devour him.
