Gemotions

The invitation’s creamy paper felt slick beneath Emily's fingertips. A wave of heat washed over her, making her cheeks flush. She immediately needed to move, to be in action. The world felt too small, the air too thick. She felt like a tightly wound spring.

She ran to the kitchen and grabbed a bag of chips. She ate a handful, then threw the bag in the trash. She had to *do* something. She decided, on the spur of the moment, to start her long overdue painting project.

She dashed into the garage, grabbed all the equipment, and went to work, her movements quick and decisive. The brush strokes were bold, the colors vibrant and loud. She needed to make a statement, to announce her presence.
