He stared at the document on his computer. A chill ran down Martin’s spine, though the room was warm. His favorite author. The stories that had shaped him. Now, revealed to be… not his own. His heart began to race. He felt a dizzying pressure in his head. His fingers tapped a rapid rhythm on the desk.

He clicked the ‘close’ button, then clicked it again. He needed to get away from the screen, away from the evidence. He stood up. He walked to the window. Outside, the world seemed vibrant, buzzing with unseen energy. He took a long, shaky breath, and felt his teeth begin to grind. He wanted to scream.
