The office felt too small, the walls closing in. He sat across from Emily, and the sudden recognition of Camp Sunnybrook had created a tidal wave in his chest. He felt an urge to be outside, in the sun. He couldn't keep his eyes still. He kept glancing at her, at the way her hands moved as she spoke.

She described the lake, the kayaks, the smells of the campfire. Each word was a spark, igniting a feeling of restlessness. It was as if a part of him that had been dormant was suddenly awakening.

"I remember," he said, the words spilling out before he could stop them. "The rope swing. And the pizza nights." He wanted to grab her hand and just run.
