The engine of the car hummed, a constant drone mirroring the incessant chatter in Mark's mind. The traffic was a sea of red lights, and the project deadline was looming. He was restless and found himself drumming his fingers against the steering wheel.

He was waiting to pick up his nephew, Ethan, and had glanced over some of his drawings. In almost every one, he saw a familiar silhouette: a shadowy figure with a mischievous grin. It was Silas, the imaginary friend he had grown up with.

Mark chuckled, a small, involuntary sound. Silas had always been a source of joy. Now, seeing him again, Mark felt a pull, a desire to reconnect with that playful part of himself.
