Gemotions

The artist stared at her canvas, the blank white surface mocking her inability to create. The noise from next door was relentless, a brutal assault on her senses that she could not escape. It was a cacophony that grated at her nerves, the incessant hammering a cruel metronome to her inner turmoil. She felt trapped.

She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to conjure the images that usually flowed freely from her mind, but the sounds invaded every thought, every feeling. The brush trembled in her hand. She threw it on the floor.

She wanted to scream. Instead, she sat down and let out a long sigh, and just held her head in her hands, her shoulders shaking. She could not breathe.
