The sales department’s energy hit Ethan like a tidal wave. Gone was the quiet efficiency of the warehouse, replaced by a constant barrage of phone calls and boisterous laughter. He felt a deep sense of unease. This role was supposed to be a step up, but all he felt was dread.

He watched the sales team interact with clients and the pressure to meet their quotas was already weighing on him. His palms were slick, and he kept adjusting his collar, a sign of discomfort he hadn't realized he had. He wanted to scream.

"Alright, Ethan, you're on the phones tomorrow!" His new supervisor, a man with a booming voice, slapped him on the back. Ethan flinched. The thought of being thrust into the competitive world of sales sent a wave of nausea through him.

He wished he could rewind time. He wanted to go back to the familiar routines of the warehouse, where he knew his place and felt secure.
