The boardroom meeting had been a disaster. Sarah’s carefully constructed plan was ripped apart, the criticism sharp and relentless. Her jaw ached from clenching it, and a tremor ran through her fingers. She craved escape from the scrutiny. The yard sale provided a momentary distraction as she wandered through the cluttered tables.

Then, there it was. Her childhood teddy bear. She froze, a mix of disbelief and something akin to a sigh escaping her. Its fur was flattened, its stuffing lumpy, but the little bear looked just as comforting as she remembered.

She picked it up, burying her face in its worn fur. The scent of dust and old memories filled her nostrils. She remembered the comfort the bear had given her as a child. This memory brought an inexplicable warmth to her chest. She bought it without hesitation, clutching the bear as she walked back to her car.
