Gemotions

The flickering neon sign of the laundromat cast long, dancing shadows. Sarah, her face drawn with exhaustion, sorted through a mountain of laundry. Her baby wouldn't stop crying, her husband was working late, and the dryer was broken, of course.

A forgotten wallet sat on a washing machine, practically overflowing with money. Her breath hitched. Inside, there was enough to replace the dryer and maybe get a few groceries.

She turned away, but an overwhelming desire to take it was beginning to take root. Her fingers itched to grab hold of it. She imagined her baby happy, her husband relieved.
