Gemotions

The pounding in his chest echoed the frantic rhythm of his thoughts. The idea, initially, had seemed so straightforward: a dog to share the mundane moments. Now, faced with his roommate's staunch opposition, the walls of the apartment seemed to press in, threatening to suffocate him. The silence, normally a welcome respite after a long day, felt like a judgment.

He slammed his laptop shut, the abrupt sound startling him. The paperwork on his desk seemed to mock him, the unread emails a mountain he couldn't face. He needed something, anything, to break the tension, to alleviate the pressure building inside. He felt his hands begin to tremble.

He needed that dog.
