"Is this…is this a joke?" Maya whispered, the words barely audible. She stared at the canvas, a distorted version of her mural, hanging in the crowded atrium of the corporate headquarters. Her jaw dropped. She'd designed it for a community project.

A wave of dizziness washed over her. She pressed a hand to her forehead, trying to steady herself. The noise of the crowd seemed to intensify, morphing into a chaotic blur. She felt a burning sensation in her cheeks.
