Gemotions

"Focus," she muttered, her voice barely a whisper. The weight of the world seemed to rest on her shoulders. She'd been helping her grandfather remodel his garage when she found it. A metal box, buried deep beneath the concrete floor.

Inside, she found a collection of old photographs, a faded map, and a collection of ticket stubs. She wanted to know more. She didn't want to know more. The knowledge was suffocating.

She felt the blood pounding in her ears, her palms grew clammy, and the tightness in her chest made it difficult to breathe. She was drowning in the unknown. It was too much to bear. She felt the tears welling up in her eyes, threatening to spill over.
