Liam glared at the overflowing box. He’d come to retrieve a family photo album, but his mother’s hoarding tendencies had clearly spilled over into the storage unit. Every single thing his sister and he had ever touched seemed to be documented. He felt the familiar clench of his jaw.

He poked the cardboard with a toe. He was not, under any circumstances, going to spend the afternoon sorting through this mess. He definitely wasn't going to look at his grade-school science projects. It was enough that he’d had to endure the endless lectures on why he should have gotten a better grade.

The photos could wait. He would, in fact, go get a beer. This was the only way to avoid the impending feeling of being berated.
