From her vantage point in the corner office, the vast expanse of the factory floor stretched before Maria. The metallic clang of machinery was her morning symphony. Now, they wanted her in research and development, a stuffy, sterile environment. Maria took a deep breath, hands clasped behind her back.

She watched the assembly line, the precise movements of the workers, the rhythm of production. She knew every bolt, every weld, every component. R&D would probably have no concept of any of this.

The memo requesting her presence in the R&D lab for a meeting tomorrow remained unacknowledged on her desk. She’d check the production reports first. Everything was running smoothly, except for this… this relocation business.
