Gemotions

The old woman, Elara, squinted at the framed photo. Her grandmother’s recipe for "Heavenly Herb Bread" was now in a cookbook, re-named as "Sunrise Loaf." A cookbook sold everywhere. She set down the photo and grabbed her walking stick.

Her knuckles were white as she gripped the polished wood. She could go there, to the publisher’s office, demand they remove it. She could. But the thought made her tired, old. She adjusted her shawl.

She would do something different. She walked to her garden, plucked fresh herbs. She would bake her bread, as she always had. The scent of rosemary, thyme, and baking bread would fill her small cottage. She would keep the memory alive.
