The gallery owner, Thomas, saw the artwork across the street. It was his signature style, his technique. A famous artist had taken his work, and rebranded it as her own. He felt a burning in his chest. He took a deep, shaky breath.

He could blast her on social media, expose her, threaten legal action. His fists clenched as he thought about it. But he stood still, his face immobile.

He returned to his own gallery. He had a new painting, one he’d been working on. It was different, more intricate, more complex. He would work hard on this new project. His own work would be a testament to his unique vision.
