The gala was in full swing, a lavish affair. He knew Blackwood would be there. He refused to hide. The accusations had reached a fever pitch. He could feel the eyes of the attendees on him as he crossed the room.

He saw Blackwood standing alone near the bar, looking drawn and pale. He'd never meet a plagiarism victim, but he knew Blackwood was his victim.

He walked toward Blackwood, and raised his hand to greet the man. He would not avoid the encounter. He would show them both that he wouldn’t be intimidated. He would make them see, it was not that bad.
