Gemotions

“You hear that?” Finn asked, leaning towards his sister, who was sitting next to him on the train. A tinny version of "City Lights" was coming from someone's headphones. His song, or at least, one of them. He'd co-written it years ago with a friend.

His sister nodded, smiling politely. He did not. The music was terrible. The tinny quality of the audio, the lack of bass… it was a travesty. He wanted to shout.

He considered, briefly, speaking up. He could ask the person to take off their headphones. He wasn't going to. He stared out the window, at the passing scenery, trying to ignore the painful echoes of his song that continued to ring out on the train car.
