He’d always hated meetings. Now, in the wake of the news, they were unbearable. Thomas refused to join any of the “reassurance sessions” the management was holding. He had his work to do and the new owners, whoever they were, wouldn't deter him.

The new policy on expense reports came across his desk. He reviewed it once, then twice, searching for a loophole. There had to be a way around this nonsense. He’d submitted his last report weeks ago, and it had been approved. He wasn't changing a thing.

When the IT department attempted to install new software on his computer, he locked his office door and pretended to be out. He was not upgrading. His old system, imperfect as it was, suited him fine. The new bosses could go pound sand.
