Gemotions

The sight of the fallen maple tree, blocking the narrow lane, sent a jolt of annoyance through him. He checked his watch. He had a meeting downtown in forty-five minutes. And now this.

He tapped his foot impatiently. The easiest solution would be to call the tree service, the number was even on the fridge. He could call his neighbor, but that would involve a conversation, and that, he decided, was entirely out of the question.

He grabbed his phone. He glanced over at the mess again. Instead of calling, he instead, turned around. He went back inside. He would find another way to get to his meeting.
