Mr. Bell, at the edge of his retirement, received a beautifully crafted wooden box. Inside, was a model of a bridge, perfectly constructed. The sender? Mark. Mark, who, according to Mr. Bell, had been too distracted to pay attention in class.

Mr. Bell studied the model with a critical eye, finding no flaws. The accompanying note simply said, "Thanks for the guidance, sir." He felt the blood rush to his face. He'd always maintained Mark wasn't the brightest of students. He would not display this in his living room, not until the old man had left for good. It would go in the attic.
