He found the flyer on his doorknob, a garish invitation to an information session about the building’s “exciting new future.” Leo tossed it into the recycling bin without a second glance. The idea of dealing with real estate agents, financing, and… *condos* made his stomach clench.

That evening, the new neighbor, Mr. Henderson, knocked. He was holding a brochure, his face alight with enthusiasm. “Just imagine, Leo, you could finally own a piece of this prime real estate!”

Leo simply shook his head, a muscle in his cheek twitching. He retreated into his apartment, slamming the door a bit harder than necessary. He’d lived there for fifteen years. It was his. And no slick brochure or eager neighbor was going to change that.
