Gemotions

He stared at the two invitations, their vibrant colors mocking his subdued mood. The world outside his window, usually a source of fascination, looked dull and gray. He felt leaden, the weight of the decision pressing down on him. His breath caught in his throat.

He had been going through the motions for months, sleepwalking through his existence. The spark, the fire that used to drive him, had been extinguished. He felt like a faded photograph, his colors leached away.
