Gemotions

The commute had been dreadful, traffic at a standstill. He had the worst headache, which felt appropriate. They had the audacity to ask him to assist this new woman, a recent graduate with zero real-world experience.

He found her at his desk, where she looked excited. That felt insulting.

"So, about the reporting..." he began, his voice barely above a whisper. He didn't look at her when he spoke, staring instead at his hands, which he’d folded tightly together on the desk. "It's all a matter of following the templates." He paused, then added, his voice flat and emotionless, “And good luck with that.”
