The new house felt hollow, a shell of what he had hoped it would be. Liam sat on the front porch, arms crossed, staring at the street. Each passing car, each happy family, seemed to mock his current state. He sighed, the air around him thick with a palpable tension.

He spent the next hour walking through the rooms, the emptiness mirroring his own internal void. His reflection stared back at him from the polished windows, and he turned away from himself.
