The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the kitchen, a smell she usually adored. Tonight, it only made her feel more isolated. She couldn't understand her feelings.

She found it in a box of old photos. A letter, written to her sister, who had passed away years ago. The paper was brittle, the ink faded, and the words, full of sisterly affection and shared secrets, cut through her like a knife.

She closed her eyes, clutching the letter. She had so many things she wanted to say, so many apologies she never got to make. The silence of the room pressed in on her, heavy and suffocating.
