Clara's jaw dropped. She'd been recounting the time she’d accidentally dyed her hair green during their college art class, a shared moment of catastrophic beauty she held dear. It always brought a smile to her face, a warm memory of youthful recklessness.

Her friend, Leo, was seated across from her, his expression a mask of confusion. "Green? No way. Your hair was blue, and you started crying the moment the instructor saw you."

She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. Her hands flew to her own head, as if to check the color of her memory.

"Blue? I… I can’t believe it," she stammered, feeling a chill spreading through her. She felt like her own past had been stolen.

Leo looked at her with an odd expression, a mixture of amusement and concern. He then gestured towards the painting in front of him. "Remember this. It's the one you were doing when it all happened." The painting was blue.
