She sat, unmoving, for what felt like hours. The familiar ticking of the clock on the wall grated on her nerves. The air in the room felt thick, heavy. She felt a deep, chilling dread.

She felt a desperate need to breathe. She got up and opened a window, the sudden rush of cool air doing nothing to ease the discomfort. She leaned against the wall, her legs trembling.
