The cafe was buzzing with the Saturday brunch crowd, a symphony of clinking silverware and murmured conversations. Leo was nursing a lukewarm coffee, staring out the window at the drizzling rain. Then, it hit him. A familiar melody, the opening chords of "Crimson Tide", his song, but... different. Someone was singing it. His song. He nearly choked on his coffee. His head snapped up, searching for the source. A young woman with a guitar sat on a small stage, her voice clear and strong. He felt a peculiar lightness, a feeling like he’d been yanked upwards.

His hands fidgeted, tracing the rim of his cup. He found himself edging closer to the stage, the other diners blurring into the background. The singer’s rendition was flawless, almost eerily so, yet infused with an energy that was uniquely her own. He was captivated, a strange mix of disbelief and… well, he didn’t know what to call it. The song ended, and a burst of applause erupted.

He stood frozen, unable to move, unable to speak. The woman smiled, a small, tentative smile, and then, her eyes met his. A flicker, an acknowledgment, before she looked away. He swallowed hard.
