Gemotions

The old trunk in the basement, filled with relics of a life long past, yielded a surprise for Amelia. She was tasked with clearing out the family home after her aunt’s passing. She thought it would be a simple job. Tucked away under a pile of vintage clothing, was a letter. It was addressed to her grandmother, in her aunt's youthful, flamboyant handwriting. Her breath caught in her chest.

She read the letter. It contained a confession of secrets, dreams, and a desperate plea for understanding. A knot formed in her stomach. Amelia had always perceived her aunt as carefree and jovial. She’d not known this vulnerable side of her. She leaned against the trunk, feeling the weight of the past. Her gaze drifted toward the ceiling.
