The stadium lights seemed to glare down on her. Sarah, a seasoned center midfielder, heard the call. "Sarah, we're putting you at forward." Her heart hammered in her chest. For years, she had been the orchestrator, the one distributing the ball and making plays. Now, she was to become something she had never done.

She heard her teammates' murmurs, the quick whispers of confusion. A few of them came up to her, offering support.

She closed her eyes, trying to imagine herself in the new position. She thought of the goal she would have to score, and felt a chill pass through her. She felt like she was being asked to reinvent herself. Opening her eyes, she took a deep breath, and walked towards the coach.
