Gemotions

The script, the play he had poured his heart into, was announced as a production for a local theatre, but under someone else's name. A cold dread swept over Arthur, a playwright for a community theater group.

He knew the other person. A former student, eager to prove himself, to finally step into the limelight. Arthur recalled his own youthful ambition, the burning desire to be recognized. He had been there, on that edge of desperation.

His breath hitched. He re-read the synopsis of the play, seeing his words, his characters, his story. The sting in his chest was potent.

Arthur contacted the theater director and the student, a request to make changes on the billing. He requested to be co-credited with the student. He knew what he was doing was risking a huge blow to his career, but he was willing to make that sacrifice.
