Gemotions

The silence of the evening commute was broken only by the rhythmic swish of the wipers. Mark replayed the conversation in his head. The other employees were making more than him. He remembered his own first days, and how difficult it was to learn and navigate this new role.

He had initially felt a surge of anger, but now, a different emotion, a sort of warmth, began to bubble up. He pictured the new hire’s wide-eyed optimism, their fresh energy. He understood the need to impress.

He decided on his action. He would make the work easier. He would share what he knew. He'd offer advice.
