The setting sun cast long shadows across the overgrown lawn as Ethan and Maya approached the house. Ethan gazed at the window, seeing an exact replica of his grandmother's face.

Maya began to talk about the repairs immediately, but Ethan could barely hear her. He went straight to his grandmother's room. He walked through the house, recalling the way she had always held herself.
