Gemotions

The overgrown weeds clawed at the walls, as if trying to reclaim the house for nature. Lily took a step forward, and her brother, Sam, followed. They had not been back to this place in ages.

She wandered through the living room. The furniture was covered in sheets, gathering dust. The television, still hooked up to cable, was old, yet she knew it held many memories.

She found Sam sitting in the armchair, holding a worn book. He was turning the pages slowly, a soft look on his face. She knew this was the book their grandmother used to read to them. She walked over and sat on the floor, ready to listen to one last story.
