The news hit Ben like a physical blow. The scholarship, which had enabled him to live and study in London, was gone. A mix-up. He’d barely registered the official's words, his mind reeling. But as he walked out, the sheer unfairness of it struck him. He thought of the other student, that individual, who must be crushed.

He leaned against a nearby wall, his breath catching in his chest. A sudden wave of intense… empathy washed over him, almost overwhelming.

He immediately pulled out his phone, searching for the university's student services page. He needed to find out how he could possibly help the situation. He felt a responsibility now. He had to do something.
