The notice fluttered to the floor as Liam dropped it. It was for Mr. Bellweather, the eccentric artist who always wore brightly colored clothes and painted murals on the building's exterior. Liam felt a strange, uncomfortable sensation in his gut.

Liam's gaze drifted toward Mr. Bellweather's apartment, where the only sign of life was a faint smell of turpentine. He remembered the kindness Mr. Bellweather had shown him when Liam first moved in, offering him a cup of tea and a friendly ear. The recollection made him wince.

Liam paced the confines of his own apartment, replaying images of the murals, the vibrant colors now fading, the joyful depictions seemingly mocking him. He hated to see them disappear. He couldn't shake the sensation that something significant was being lost.
